EssilorLuxottica brings vision and innovation to O=MEGA23 in Australia

EssilorLuxottica Australia and New Zealand jointly showcased the Group’s premium offerings including its lens, frames, and instruments as a unified Company for the first time at O=MEGA23, the biggest eyecare and eyewear fair in Melbourne, Australia 


At the recent O=MEGA23 trade show, EssilorLuxottica Australia and New Zealand showcased the Company’s combined expertise in lens technology, eyecare equipment and eyewear manufacturing for the first time in support of its eyecare professionals and ambition to grow the optical industry in the region.  


The biggest eyecare and eyewear fair in Australia ran in partnership this year with the 4th World Congress of Optometry, the most credentialed annual optometry clinical conference in the Southern Hemisphere. EssilorLuxottica was a proud Gold Sponsor of the Congress.  
 
The Group’s innovative brands and products were presented through an immersive and engaging experience for its customers and business partners. Highlights at the booth this year included: an afternoon tea session to introduce customers to the eyewear brands within EssilorLuxottica’s vast portfolio including the latest addition, Swarovski; a cocktail event to celebrate the launch of Varilux XR series, a major innovation in the field of progressive lenses; as well as dedicated areas to showcase the Group’s latest innovations. These include the Vision-R 800 phoropter, Essilor Stellest and Ray-Ban Reverse. Additional highlights include Leonardo, its innovative learning platform, and Smart Shopper, an application which offers a new in-store journey for consumers as they virtually try on sunglasses. 
 
Within the clinical program, Sebastien Fricker, the Group’s research and development lens design manager, appeared on screen to discuss 'Recent Advances in Progressive Addition Lens design".  Kate Gifford and Paul Gifford, founders, and directors of Myopia Profile, moderated the "Status Report on Myopia Control and Spectacle lenses" session, involving presentations from Dr Nina Tahhan, from International Myopia Institute, Professor Mark Bullimore, and Tim Thurn, Professional Services Director, EssilorLuxottica Australia and New Zealand.
